On September 5, Cat by Cat Inc. took in 30 cats and kittens from Hurricane Ida-ravaged Louisiana. On the same transport, 8 adults cats came for Ten Lives Club with and one lucky pup named “Bingo” for Nickel City Canine Rescue.
Best Friends Animal Society reached out, and Cat by Cat Inc. answered the call, along with Standing Together an Animal Rescue Service (STARS), Ten Lives Club, and Nickel City Canine Rescue. Animals from three devastated shelters in Louisiana were driven up north by two Best Friends volunteers and will find new homes in Buffalo, New York.
This was a huge endeavor, and it would not have been possible without the help of our amazing team and several other rescue groups in this city of good neighbors.
If you can help in any way, please do—whether it’s a generous donation, fostering kittens, or adopting a new family member. We rely on the generosity of our community for our work to continue.
This is our way to help in the aftermath of Hurricane Ida in Louisiana, locally. It could be yours too. Changing Lives, one Cajun Kitty at a time.
Our work will also continue here, as TNVR is our mission. We believe in helping whoever and whenever we can.

What a memorable experience my family & I had at the Cat by Cat shelter. The owner Sally, was an incredibly kind, informative and extremely compassionate woman, who takes the utmost pride in what she does, and with such great compassion. And, it shows, by the way she treats each & every Kitten/Cat she has the pleasure of caring for. We love our kittens and the way she made us feel like family!!❤
